The use of pesticides is very common in agriculture, as they control the incidence of insects, diseases and weeds that damage the crops. However, the use of these substances has great impact on the environment.
For this reason, the Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública Sergio Arouca (Ensp) (National School of Public Health) proposes a project in which critical reasoning is the core of the activities. The program includes the making of a film as teaching tool, meetings for discussions, organization of multiplier courses for professionals of the area, social mobilization caravans, and the creation of a national convention.
All actions focus on the dangers of the use of pesticides and their socio-environmental impacts, leading participants to rethink the use of pesticides and other agricultural chemicals.
