The Health South American Institute (Isags) celebrated its first anniversary last Wednesday (July 25th). As a partner, Fiotec participated in the celebration, represented by its General Manager, Adilson Gomes dos Santos; its Project Manager, Maria Aparecida Ferreira; its Ongoing Project Coordinator, Ailton Canuto, and its Project Analyst, Rafael Cabral. The celebration was held in the headquarters of the institute, downtown Rio de Janeiro.
During his speech, José Gomes Temporão, Isags Executive Director, thanked for the work performed by Fiotec, and highlighted that the institution has always sought to speed up implementation processes so that the institute was ready to start its operations.
Born from the Union of South American Nations (Unasul), the main objective of Isags is promoting interchange, critical thinking, knowledge management and innovation in politics and health governance, making the best practices and evidences for management qualification in the sector available to the Ministries of Health in South America. Twelve countries are members of Isags.
The institute was established with the challenge of seeking innovating agenda for topics that affect South America. Projects and guidelines are created, having as basis the many transitions faced by the health sector. These transitions include: demographical transition, which has significant impact on health systems, especially in terms or organization and costs; and epidemiological transition, in which chronic diseases and violence are predominant.
The Center of International Relations and Health (CRIS), a center belonging to Fiocruz management, has been designated as mediator and supervisor of the project. Fiotec, in addition to renovating the headquarters for the construction of the institute the previous year, continues to support the coordination of the project in financial and administrative managing activities.
Ailton Canuto commented on the importance of Fiotec activities in the project, which started as early as Isags implementation. “Our participation in this celebration confirms our role as supporters and our responsibility in executing Fiocruz projects with quality and transparency, investing more and more in qualified personnel”, said the Ongoing Project Coordinator.
CRIS Director Paulo Buss, and Project General Coordinator José Roberto Ferreira also participated in the celebration representing Fiocruz. José Roberto Ferreira also coordinates the project. Mariana Faria, Head Office and the entire Isags execution team have also participated.
