Fiotec received the Certificado Empresa Cidadã from the Conselho Regional de Contabilidade [Accounting Regional Council] (CRC-RJ), in partnership with the Federação das Indústrias do Estado do Rio de Janeiro [Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro] (Firjan), and the Federação do Comércio do Estado do Rio de Janeiro [Federation of Commerce of the State of Rio de Janeiro] (Fecomércio). The certification proves that the information included in the balance sheet comply with the necessary requirements that confer to the awarded institutions the condition of socio-environmental company.
The accountants of the certified institutions were also awarded with the same title. In the case of Fiotec, collaborator Carlos Alberto Dias de Mesquita, Accounting coordinator, received the award. Executive officer, Mauricio Zuma Medeiros and general manager, Adilson Gomes dos Santos, attended the ceremony.
This was the 10th edition of the Certificado Empresa Cidadã, and the first time that Fiotec competes and is awarded. The requirements for the certification were: transparency; social balance sheet and financial statements; amounts invested in Human Resources (career and incentive plan, employee education stimulus, encouraging employee participation in voluntary programs); technology, research, and development, and application of the resources.
CRC-RJ president, Diva Maria de Oliveira Gesualdi, has expressed her satisfaction in seeing that, every year, new institutions receive the certification, showing that a socio-environmental concern is more and more present in the day-to-day business. "I am very happy to award accountants and companies who have awakened to the importance of the socio-environmental balance by using profits in favor of development. This is a recognition that accounting is also social work, and not only a work that is technical and ethical," she concluded.
