Last week Fiotec launched its Quality Management program, which considers among other actions the implantation of the Quality Management System (SGQ). It aims at seeking benefits, among them the ISO (International Standardization Organization) 9001:2008 certification, which will ensure that the institution will operate within the international standard of Quality and, therefore, has full capacity to offer excellent services. An internal campaign for encouraging Quality was launched in order to engage collaborators in this search.
In order to progress the actions of the program and implant SGQ, the Quality Management sector has been created, which since May of last year works towards aligning internal processes and documents with the strategic directions of Fiotec in the search for continuous improvement and excellence. “Our intent is to engage all Fiotec staff in this achievement. After all, we want to obtain this certificate and prove that quality is our greatest quality”, affirmed Luanara Damasceno, manager of the department.
According to her, in addition to ensuring good management practices and relations among clients and suppliers, ISO 9001:2008 enables greater performance by staff, serves as leverage in the search for total quality, provides greater competitiveness on the market, optimizes processes and reduces costs.
Patrícia Lopes Mendes, Human Resources analyst, is one of the staff members who are already working with the adaptation of the processes to the standards of Quality. For her, one of the great advantages of the action is that the standards of the institution are being outlined. “Everything was very disconnected and now we are formatting documents with the ‘look’ of the institution. This guarantees that professionals better understand the processes, know how to use them and, mainly, improve their performance”, she commented.
All stages of the path towards certification are important. And in this SGQ pre-implanation stage, the intent is to form an atmosphere and involve all staff, since the system will be made for and by everyone, with the Quality team working as facilitator of the process.
What is Quality?
ISO standard 9000, which deals with the vocabulary and the foundations of SGQ, affirms that Quality is the degree in which a set of inherent characteristics satisfy requirements. Despite subjectivity and the several possible approaches to understand this concept, under the optics of the organizations, we can say that it is a set of characteristics of the performance of a product or service that, in compliance with the specifications, meets and can also surpass the expectations and aspirations of the consumer/client.
