The project on the Strategic Management and Development of Products for the Vital Brazil Institute (IVB), developed by the Sergio Arouca National School of Public Health (Ensp/Fiocruz), is supported by Fiotec. It is focused on the formation of organizational structures that provide the establishment of partnerships and transfers of technology, with the purpose of increasing the productive potential and to increase the Institute's portfolio. Among the actions carried out, training for inserting new products into the market stands out, especially those that make up the Health Services Network of the Unified Health System (SUS), identification of business opportunities in products and inputs in health and activities related to social and environmental responsibility.

IVB’s project is organized aimed at the following sub-projects: Technological Park of Life (PTV), with the purpose of generating innovative and successful enterprises within the biotechnology sector; University Laboratory Rodolpho Albino (Lura), aimed at promoting development, production and quality control of medicines, cosmetics, health products and household cleaning; Waste Management, for collection, treatment and final disposal of waste related to the production process of medicines; Medicine Production and Technology Development, which seeks to develop proposals of new products for the Ministry of Health; Vital Health – Dietary Re-education Program, aimed at controlling diseases related to obesity; and Family Architect, with the purpose of promoting technical assistance for the project of housing improvements around IVB.

There is also “Vital Network for Brazil – national network of information, dialogue and cooperation on venomous animals”, which focuses on the development and maintenance of a social network that brings together, represents and supports the various professionals, associations and institutions that cooperate with the works and increase of the various fields of knowledge related to venomous animals in Brazil.

Vital Brazil Institute

The Vital Brazil Institute is one of the official laboratories existing in Brazil. It covers the whole public sector, with production of serums and medicines for human use. It carries out studies and research within the pharmaceutical, biological, economic and social fields, besides services that range from laboratory and epidemiologic diagnosis to control programs of diseases that threaten public health in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
