Consolidating, giving visibility and knowledge on the efforts collaborating to the promotion of health, quality of life and encouraging citizenship, mainly those adding government initiatives and social movements. This is the purpose of the project “Fortalecimento das redes do Programa Cultura Viva com foco na diversidade cultural e sua articulação com a promoção da saúde (Consolidation of the Cultura Viva program networks focusing on cultural diversity and its articulation with the promotion of health)”, according to the coordinator, Luciana Sepulveda Koptche. The project is developed by Fiocruz Brasília and is supported by Fiotec.
The Cultura Viva program was created in 2011 by a partnership of the Ministry of Culture and Fiocruz, with the support by Fiotec, for consolidating practices integrating health and culture. It aims at consolidating networks through strategic efforts and social technologies related to health promotion, human rights and quality of life practices. The strengthening project aims at consolidating these strategies, highlighting the fields related to gender, childhood, youth, elders, LGBT community, disabled people, people with mental disorder, indigenous people, traditional people and communities.
“This project supports a series of programs and policies of relevance, such as the humanization, health promotion and health popular education policies, with a set of important values for the sanitary reform and the Unified Health System”, said Koptche.
Project progress
According to the coordinator, the project has made great progress, by systematizing experiences that have already happened and mobilizing new actors. “We have already published a book and made several formation activities and varied events throughout the country”, said Koptche. She commented also on the plans for 2014. “This year, we will continue with the formation and mobilization activities with the culture points and the health Basic Care professionals. Our idea is to deepen the mapping of initiatives”, she said.
Fiotec’s support
Fiotec supported the creation of the program in the years of 2011 and 2012 and is supporting its consolidation since last year. In the coordinator’s opinion, this is a partnership that worked. “Fiotec offers a more flexible management system that is important to implement intersectoral policies and projects of national scope and, this way, is collaborating to the management of that research”, said Koptche.
