Fiotec provides accounts to the Fiocruz community by means of Public Hearing - Fiotec

Last month, a Public Hearing to provide accounts for Fiotec was held at the home Bio-Manguinhos auditorium. The meeting is part of the commitment by the current administration of the Fundação Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) to holding hearings with a view to transparency in its procedures. The event was attended by the President of Fiocruz, Paulo Gadelha; Vice President for Institutional Development, Pedro Barbosa; Board members of Fiotec; and area managers. It was also attended by representatives from a number of Fiocruz units and watched by other workers on web TV.

 

Opening the hearing, Paul Fundação Oswaldo Cruz stressed the importance of Fiotec to Fiocruz. "The mission of Fiotec is geared to the meeting the needs of the Fiocruz projects. It is a well-known fact that Fiotec is key to the success of our projects. Today the foundation has undergone considerable evolution and we have to think about entering a wider field ".

The executive director of Fiotec, Mauricio Zuma the was the person responsible for providing accounts, by means of a presentation showing historical data, accreditation, management and operation of projects supported by units, along with HR and other key issues, such as concern with transparency. The director presented the new challenges of the institution, which include seeking ISO: 9001 certification, prospecting for new opportunities, building a new headquarters, along with consolidation and integration within the Fiocruz system.

The broadening of its fields of expertise was another highlight of the presentation. In addition to our institutional commitment to Social Cooperation, these days, Fiotec is authorized to sponsor projects to support culture, through the Cultural Incentive Law (ISS Law).

At the end of the presentation, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions and propose improvements. "Accountability is the primary tool for management because we can only give an account of what is actually being done. It is a social commitment, "said Pedro Barbosa, ending the hearing.
