Contribute to the process of organizing care with workers residing in Manguinhos district, in Rio de Janeiro, from the Primary Health Care (PHC). That was the goal of a project developed by the Center for the Study of Labor Health and Human Ecology (CESTEH) belonging to the National School of Public Health Sergio Arouca (ENSP/ Fiocruz) and supported by Fiotec. Besides the training of 11 community health workers and nurses about the relationship among work, health and disease, a situational diagnosis of the region was developed and lines of care were defines for priority health problems.
The project was a partnership with the General Coordination of Labor Health of the Ministry of Health (CGSAT / DSAST / SVS) and the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG-FM).
The Manguinhos district, located in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, has a high socioeconomic vulnerability and one of the worst Human Development Indexes (HDI) of the city. The region's population surpasses 36,000 inhabitants. Through this project, it was possible to identify the working population of the area, the main injuries related to work and, finally, the creation of a care line.
Care line
From the definition of priority health problems, it was possible to establish a care line for application in Manguinhos. This is a proposal for the organization of the health network, which aims to express the secure and safe care flows to the user in order to meet their health needs.
Thus, care flows concerning the following injuries were outlined: Labor Accidents, occupational dermatitis, respiratory diseases, osteoarticular diseasesand mental health and work-related issues. The project was completed in March this year.
