Fiocruz is finalist in an international award of fundraising in the Netherlands - Fiotec

Fiocruz Fundraising Office is finalist in the Global Awards for Fundraising 2014, an international award acknowledging excellence practices in fundraising. After winning the Brazilian award, Fiocruz will compete with the representatives from other two countries for the first place in the class The Global Fundraiser, for professionals that have developed reference efforts in fundraising for the last two years.

The winners will be announced in a ceremony to be held on October 15th in the Netherlands. The award is promoted by Resource Alliance, a global network that is sharing knowledge on fundraising and philanthropy for more than 30 years. The case registered by Fiocruz ranges from the Fundraising Office pilot project implementation, supporting at first the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (COC) projects, to its transformation into a training instance for other units of the Foundation.

The office coordinator, Luís Donadio, the representative of the institution in the Netherlands, has celebrated the nomination to the finals and said that this is the result of six years of intense work, made in a professional fashion. “We have developed throughout this time. We have lost, won, made tests and been bold. Our main achievement was not having afraid of innovating seeking for resources to some of COC projects. Nowadays, we are already reaped the fruits of this process, but we can do much more", he said.

He emphasized that the structuring and institutionalization work of the office places it in a continuous growth and improvement path, which has been serving as inspiration and role model to other entities trying to implement similar structures.
