A new channel of communication between health professionals and the institutions responsible for "Brazilian Experiences" webpages will be established. "Talk to the hospital," which is being implemented by Proqualis (Icict/Fiocruz) in partnership with Alemão Oswaldo Cruz Hospital (HAOC) was presented with the proposal to be a place where health professionals and managers of services health can submit questions, have questions answered and make comments on the subject of the hospital webpage.

HAOC will be in charge of answering questions about the theme Safe Surgery from receipt of the completed form, available on Proqualis webpage. The choice of theme to open the new space on the web portal is justified by the fact that the Safe Surgery is a priority practice to reduce the risk and occurrence of preventable adverse events. The space devoted to it on Proqualis Web Portal is coordinated by HAOC, which implemented the Safe Surgery process in 2009 and specializes in surgical complex procedures.

Adverse events related to surgical care, such as wrong surgery, on the wrong side or on the wrong patient, surgical site infection, among others, represent one-third of harmful events in hospitals. Situations that could be avoided with preventive measures presented in safe surgery protocols, many of them available in section Safe Surgery of Proqualis Web Portal.

Technology to promote patient care

Coordinated by Margareth Portela, Proqualis Web Portal, named after the Collaborating Center for Quality of Care and Patient Safety, is supported by Fiotec for the implementation of its actions since the end of 2014. The platform turns to the production and dissemination of information and technology in patient quality and safety. It is bound to ICICT/Fiocruz and funded by the Ministry of Health, by means of the Department of Health Care.

The main goal of the web portal is to be a permanent source of information and updates for health professionals by disseminating the technical and scientific content selected according to relevance, quality and timeliness.
