Editora Fiocruz promotes a launching event for more than 60 titles - Fiotec

On December 15th Editora Fiocruz (Fiocruz Publisher) promoted a collective on-site launching of titles published during the Covid-19 pandemic. The event was a partnership with Fiotec and took place at the headquarters of Brazil’s Architects Institute (IAB-RJ), in Rio de Janeiro.

The on-site ceremony has been held since 2019, but had to be interrupted in the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year the event was resumed and involved the publisher’s books launched between 2020 and 2022.

Overall, they published 61 books on subjects such as organizational challenges in health systems, human rights, teenage pregnancy, indigenous health, communication, urban agriculture, vaccines, epidemiology and impact of Covid-19 on vulnerable populations, among others.

In an interview for Fiotec’s Communication Advisory Office, João Canossa, Executive Director of Editora Fiocruz, highlighted Fiotec’s role:

“This is a moment of celebration, the culmination of a work of three years of editorial production in the health field. And we would like to really thank Fiotec for helping us make this event feasible, as well as one of the books in this event. This traditional partnership is proof that when we team up to do something good, things do work out!”

Cristiani Vieira Machado, Fiocruz vice-president for Education, Information and Communication, was also present, and thanked Fiotec for its contribution.

The books on display are available for purchase on the Editora Fiocruz website.
