On February 13, Fiotec welcomed two representatives of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO): Roberta Justo, in charge of the Finances and Budget of the Letters of Agreement unit, and Carolina Novaes, a Technical Consultant. The meeting took place with professionals of the Fiotec team. Together with CEO Marcelo Amaral, they showed the data regarding the 14 projects financed by the Organization and managed by the support foundation.
The idea for the visit came from PAHO, with the goal of following up on the Letters of Agreement in force as agreed between the two institutions, and following the agreement from the technical and financial standpoints. According to coordinator Daniele Gomes, the Fiotec teams presented a general report with the technical progress of all the projects, in addition to a panel about the evolution of accountability and the percentage of execution of each project.
The PAHO representatives also presented the main changes that have taken place in the standards that guide the execution of projects at the institution, making room for the professionals to ask questions.
This was not the first visit of the representatives to Fiotec: they had previously attended a meeting at the Fiocruz Expansion Building, in 2017. Gomes said the meeting also strengthened the ties between the two institutions. “The meeting ended up making our partnership even more solid. It was very productive. They were very impressed with the size of Fiotec and its whole structure, because they hadn’t been to this building before”, she said.
