Fiotec is the latest sponsor of Ballet Manguinhos, a project that transforms the lives of girls and women through access to culture, education and sports. The initiative began 11 years ago in the Manguinhos favela complex. The area has one of the lowest HDIs of Rio de Janeiro. Fiotec recently transferred R$ 50,000 to Ballet Manguinhos, which today benefits more than 5,000 people.

The project offers classes on ballet, circus, contemporary dance, modern dance, and boxing to more than 400 students, from 6 to 65 years old. Already considered the greatest cultural institution in Rio’s northern zone, Ballet Manguinhos intends to become a reference in the teaching and researching of dance and culture in Brazil by the next five years. The idea is to expand the project’s field of action in sports and educational modalities, always promoting gender equality.
