Last week, representatives of the Fiotec Whistleblowing and Reception Channel met with members of the Internal Commission for the Professional Integration of PWDs (CIIP) in order to carry out accessibility tests with the institution's professionals with disabilities. The platform aims to offer support, guidance and assistance to people who need help or support, and is now in a testing period for the official launch.
The tests were conducted by Governance and Quality (GGQ) professionals, Christianne Barbosa and Abrahão Nepomuceno, at the three gateways to the channel: website, 0800 line and software application. After the assessment, opportunities for improvement were forwarded to the outsourced company responsible for providing the service, which will make the internal adjustments.
One of Fiotec's values is respect for diversity, trust, cordiality and a responsible attitude, seeking to ensure full participation and equal opportunities for all people, regardless of their individual characteristics, skills or disabilities. Thus, GGQ identified that it would be essential for the Whistleblowing and Reception Channel to be really accessible to all employees, so that everyone could make their reports independently and autonomously.
Christianne stated that the result of this action was very significant for the institution, as it ensures that the rights of all employees are guaranteed. “This is important for our area, since we are in compliance with Fiotec's policies and norms”, he said.
ESG and inclusion
The inclusion of PWDs is a fundamental principle of human rights and seeks to eliminate discrimination and promote equality for all people. In the case of the Internal Channel, this inclusion is linked to the items addressed by the ESG, an approach implemented by the institution, and Integrity and Compliance.
According to Luanara Damasceno, Governance and Quality manager, this was an opportunity to listen to PWD professionals and collect opportunities for improvement: “we are grateful to our colleagues who made themselves available for this partnership and Fiotec’s People Management for their support to this action. Aligning ESG discourse with practice needs to be part of our daily lives.”
This kind of responsible attitude requires the involvement of all of society, including governments, the private sector, civil society organizations and the community itself. It is important to recognize and value the skills and potential of PWDs, ensuring that they have the same opportunities and can enjoy a full and meaningful life.
