Fiotec participates of a meeting at WWF Brazil headquarters - Fiotec

Members of the Protection of Indigenous and Traditional Peoples of Brazil (Proteção dos Povos Indígenas e Tradicionais do Brasil) project gathered at WWF headquarters in Brasília for a face-to-face meeting on June 14th and 15th. The technical team and representatives of local partner organizations participated, as well as part of the project's administrative and financial team.

The main objective of the meeting was to deal with the management of the consortium, which included the presentation of the financial execution of each institution and the planning for the project amendment, which will be submitted in July this year. In addition, the German funder's feedback regarding the accounting sent so far and the supporting documentation to prove the expenses were presented.

During the event, professionals received training on WWF's procurement and contracting policy and on the project's Operational Manual. Sara Junker, Fiotec’s representative, said that in the two days of the meeting there were moments of listening and a great exchange of experiences: “we were able to present the difficulties we are facing, thinking together on how to overcome them”.

The Project for the Protection of Indigenous and Traditional Peoples of Brazil also counts on the participation of the Kanindé Ethno-environmental Defense Association, the Acre Pro-Indian Commission (CPI Acre), the Chico Mendes Committee, the Pacto das Águas, the Saúde e Alegria Project, theInstitute of Agricultural and Forest Management and Certification (Imaflora), in addition to several local organizations and indigenous associations.
