On September 22nd, Capacita Finep-Convênios gathered institutions and companies with projects approved in open tender notices by the funding authority at Fiesp’s auditorium in São Paulo. The idea was to qualify those organizations from the point of view of technical and financial execution and the accountability for the projects. For that purpose, previous experiences with funding were analyzed, in addition to practical activities on completing reports, possible changes in executing teams, reallocation of budget items, among others.
Marcia Perdonati and Sueny Lima, from Fiotec’s Project Initiation team, participated in the case studies and in the exchange of experiences between representatives of several institutions. At Fiotec, the professionals are responsible for following up on the management of projects financed with Finep’s resources.
Celso Pansera, president of the Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (Finep) opened the event showing a video thanking the organizations attending. Following that, Elias de Souza, director of Innovation at Fiotec, mentioned the budget of R$ 2 billion expected for 2023, and that at least 10 notices should be disclosed this year. The executive announced that by 2026, that budget will have had an increase of 20% each year.
“Those resources are extremely important to the ICTs, especially to Fiocruz, as they are destined not only to research, but also to strengthening its infrastructure through purchasing equipment and developing new facilities,” highlights Marcia.
Now, Fiotec has 11 active agreements with Finep, two others that are being processed, and 11 other project proposals under assessment. Just this year, the institution submitted 10 proposals to Finep, totaling almost R$ 98 million.
