Days dedicated to innovative solutions: Fiotec participates in Rio Innovation Week - Fiotec

One of the largest technology events in Latin America, Rio Innovation Week took place between October 3rd and 6th, in Píer Mauá, port area of Rio de Janeiro. And Fiotec was present, represented by its Governance, Sustainability and ESG team, who participated in a program with over 30 simultaneous conferences gathering 2 thousand lecturers and over 350 research institutions and organizations.

Luanara Damasceno, manager of Governance, Sustainability and ESG at Fiotec, tells us that the team was split among the lectures, prioritizing those with themes related to the role of the institution. The debates addressed issues such as ESG for companies; Inclusion of disabled and LGBTQIAPN+ persons in the labor market; Promotion of Racial Diversity; Implementation of LGPD (General Personal Data Protection Law); Innovation and environmental management in ESG; Decarbonization; Artificial intelligence and Diversity; The age of humans: ideas to postpone the end of the world; ESG and the energy sector; AI and corporate Governance; ABNT- PR 2030; Gender and Race in corporate management.

“The event was a great surprise, as it materialized how much the sustainability and innovation agendas are closely connected. Having contact with companies that have been in this journey for longer also fueled our ideas and brought us more inspiration and will to seek excellence in our ESG program,” says the manager. Luanara highlights the exhibition by Graça Machel, Mozambican politician and human rights activist and former Minister of Education of Mozambique, who presented a strong reflection on the impacts of technology in human rights and labor market, and the need for everyone’s commitment to the anti-racism agenda and to gender equality.

The four days of event also had intense networking with professionals of public and private institutions, among them Lóreal, the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC) and Institute Benjamin Constant (IBC), national reference in visual impairment. Luanara remembers the important exchange with representatives of Transgarçone, extension program of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) that promotes free actions to strengthen the life and work trajectory of the trans population.
