Clarissa Silva takes office as Fiotec’s advisor - Fiotec

On November 27th, Fiotec welcomed a new member of its Board of Trustees. Clarissa Oliveira da Silva will hold office until January 27th, 2024, replacing Fernando Peregrino, now head of office at the Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (Finep).

The appointment of Clarissa was approved with the most votes, as described in the Articles of Association of Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz). During the election meeting, the president of Fiotec’s Board of Trustees, Priscila Ferraz, read the resolution of the Advisory Board of Fiocruz in which it manifested being aware of Fernando Peregrino’s leaving and the support to the appointment of Clarissa Silva to the position.

At the election meeting at Fiotec’s head office, the president of the Board of Trustees, Priscila Ferraz, the executive director of the institution, Cristiane Sendim, and the financial and integrity director, Mansur Campos, were present beside Clarissa. The other members of the Board participated remotely: Alex Santos Príncipe, Roberto Pierre Chagnon, Nercilene Santos da Silva Monteiro and Stella Regina Carletti.

Clarissa Oliveira da Silva had been a member of the Audit Committee of Confies (Brazilian National Council of Support Foundations for Higher Education and Scientific and Technological Research Institutions) and is now vice-president of the Support Foundation for Scientific and Technological Research of UFRRJ (Fapur), having extensive experience in the area of innovation. In a brief speech, the new advisor emphasized the importance of enhancing the legal and institutional relationship between supporting foundations and supported institutions, defending the relevance of developing guidelines and policies for innovation, specifically.
