On February 28, Fiotec's Governance, Sustainability and ESG team participated in a virtual meeting with representatives of the Conexão G de Cidadania LGBT (LGBT Citizenship G Connection =), Group, a non-profit organization founded by young people from the Nova Holanda community, in the Maré favela complex, in Rio de Janeiro/RJ. The purpose of the conversation was to exchange information and experiences between the two institutions, as part of the scope planning work of Fiotec's Sustainability/ESG Program.
Since 2006, the NGO led by Gilmara Cunha has been working to promote and guarantee human rights in the territory of Maré, recognizing the importance of adding the agenda of raciality to the demands of the LGBTQIA+ population. According to Luanara Damasceno, Governance, Sustainability and ESG manager at Fiotec, the promotion of social responsibility by institutions must be based on the approximation and partnership with the organizations that operate in that same region. "The meeting was part of a calendar of visits planned by the team in order to better understand the context in which our foundation is included and, therefore, subsidize the development of our actions".
Fiotec's Sustainability/ESG Program is one of the objectives outlined in the institution's Strategic Planning, which will be carried out until 2027.
