Fiotec participates in training on the preparation of PhD fellowship proposals - Fiotec

Fiotec participated in the on-site training titled “MSCA postdoctoral fellowships proposal writing”, on the preparation of Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships (MSCA), on April 30th, in Rio de Janeiro. The schedule was proposed in the scope of the partnership “EURAXESS - Researchers in Motion,” an initiative of the European Commission, which promotes the development of careers and the mobility of researchers and aims to strengthen the scientific cooperation between Europe and other countries in the world, and the Department of Scientific Excellence and Talent Recruitment of the University of A Coruña, in Spain. Thaiany Medeiros, International Project Analyst at Fiotec, and Flávia Paixão, from the Fiocruz Coordination for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Affirmative Policies (Cedipa), participated in the event.

The training aims to boost the submission of young researchers with a PhD, or in the process of getting a PhD, and have up to eight years of experience in the area of the research, in all areas of knowledge, including health. Through the training, the expectation is to help local researchers and research support foundations to understand European calls to obtain the best performance and approval. The event had the instructors: Charlotte Grawitz, regional representative of EURAXESS in Latin America and the Caribbean, and Elena Solera, from the Researchers Funding Workshop of the University of A Coruña, Spain.

According to Thaiany, the training with the two advisors was extremely important to understand how writing a proposal for fellowships and international grants should be in order to be approved. Thus, with the qualifications and training, Fiotec can be more prepared to support young researchers to obtain success in the submission of their research and grants, with the perfect alignment between the proposals, which includes understanding the eligibility criteria and the cohesion between the parties (needs, solutions and products) and the criteria for the calls.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions are the main training and mobility program for researcher in the European Commission. The goal is to prepare researchers with the skills and international experience required for a successful career, whether in the public or private sector.
