The 119th edition of the International Compliance Congress, held in São Paulo from July 25th and 27th, had the active participation of Fiotec teams. The Foundation brought representatives from its Integrity and Compliance, and Governance, Sustainability and ESG departments to the capital of São Paulo, as well as its Financial and Integrity Director and the President of the Institutional Ethics Committee.
The importance given by Fiotec to the event is more than justified. The Congress is recognized as the largest and most innovative one in Latin America in the compliance sector, also bringing together big names in governance, ESG, privacy and risks. According to Luanara Damasceno, Governance, Sustainability and ESG Manager at Fiotec, the panels addressed varied and crucial topics for the development and improvement of ESG, corporate governance and compliance practices. According to her, the main topics discussed included: good governance practices, ESG, compliance, risk analysis and mitigation, challenges and advances in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, harassment, and mental health.
She was even invited by the event to present a workshop on ESG competence as a leveraging element for professionals and careers. Luanara led the presentation ESG Size GG – People and Management. “Having the opportunity to share Fiotec’s experience in ESG highlighting the importance of people and management in such an important international event is a milestone for our institution. It is important to highlight Fiotec's pioneering spirit, as this was the first time a support foundation was present on the event's official agenda. And being present in these spaces is important so that people know and understand the very important role these foundations play in our country,” she emphasizes.
Newly arrived at Fiotec with the mission of strengthening the institution's compliance team and agenda, analyst Mariana Pecci also highlights the relevance of the Foundation occupying such an important space: “it was an excellent opportunity to discuss old and new topics, with the contribution of experience from colleagues from other organizations, which adds a lot to the development and continuous improvement of compliance at Fiotec, by considering the best market practices with the necessary adaptations for a support foundation”.
