Annual meeting of CUIDA Chagas takes place in Bolivia with the presence of Fiotec - Fiotec

Fiotec was present at another annual meeting of the CUIDA Chagas project, which brings together members of the institutions involved in the consortium to analyze the actions implemented in the current year and project objectives for the near future. This time, the meetings took place in Santa Cruz de La Sierra, Bolivia, between October 14 and 18.

The meeting's program included meetings involving representatives of the ministries of health of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Paraguay, as well as agents from the World Health Organization (WHO), Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO), Findechagas and Unitaid. The agendas discussed the implementation of the project in the different countries that are part of the consortium.

The meeting also provided the formation of working groups for more in-depth discussions on specific topics. Implementation; Clinical Trial; Validation Study; Market and Finance Studies were discussed. This last WG had the participation of Fiotec's Project analysts, Eduardo Mello and Luiz Martins. The professionals presented financial data from the project, a survey on the purchases and management of health commodities, as well as feedback on the audit processes.

The consortium

The CUIDA Chagas Project (United Communities for Innovation, Development and Care for Chagas Disease) combines implementation research and innovation with the goal of developing a comprehensive and integrated approach to achieve its goal: to contribute to the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of Chagas disease (CD) in the Latin America.

Its proposal is to benefit women of childbearing age, their children and household contacts, increasing and intensifying access to diagnosis, treatment and comprehensive care for CD through innovative and sustainable approaches.
