Fiotec's commitment to compliance and everything that involves strategy is part of its guidelines. For this reason, representatives of the International Project Accountability teams, the Project Monitoring and Control center and Fiotec's Integrity and Compliance Coordination attended the International Compliance Congress, promoted by LEC (Legal, Ethics & Compliance). Recognized as one of the largest meetings in the area in Latin America, the event brought together experts, companies, public bodies and civil society organizations to debate the challenges and trends in the sector.
The conference covered topics such as performance indicators (KPIs), due diligence, internal controls and whistleblowing channels, which are traditional in the industry. They also raised newer topics, such as artificial intelligence, cryptoassets, the digital economy and innovation. Issues related to sustainability, diversity, human rights and organizational culture were also at the heart of the discussions.
In addition to the technical content, the event reinforced the importance of compliance as a strategic tool for dealing with the growing risks of fraud, corruption, cyber-attacks and data breaches. Practical cases, studies of investigations and debates on leniency agreements, crisis management and compliance were also demonstrated at the event.
According to Renan Gonçalves, from Projects, taking part in the LEC Congress was a clear stand in favor of ethical, transparent and sustainable practices in the management environment. "Today, this is a valuable competitive and reputational differentiator," he said.
One of the highlights of the event was the dynamic format adopted, with sessions such as LEC Talks, interactive panels and networking moments, which provided a greater exchange of experiences between the participants and brought the content closer to the reality of the institutions.
