Marianna Camargo, a member of the Council's College of Prosecutors and legal manager at Fiotec, participated in the review of the proposal.
Representatives from the National Council of Foundations Supporting Higher Education and Scientific and Technological Research Institutions (Confies) met with the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, in early September to discuss the importance of support foundations for Federal Higher Education Institutions (Ifes), Federal Institutes (IFs), and Science and Technology Institutions (ICTs).
Bruno Portella, institutional advisor for Confies and coordinator of prospecting and opportunities at Fundep, emphasized the importance of strengthening the Education, Science, Technology and Innovation ecosystem, in addition to proposing a debate on strategic agendas such as updating the Law of Support Foundations (No. 8,958/1994).
Recently, the College of Attorneys of Confies participated in the review of a proposal made by the Council to modernize the legislation governing the operation of support foundations. In the document, the association advocates for the streamlining of processes to strengthen the contribution made by foundations supporting the scientific and technological development of Brazil, in addition to proposing the adaptation of the regulation to the Legal Framework for Science, Technology and Innovation (Constitutional Amendment No. 85/2015, Law No. 13,243/2016 and Decree No. 9,283/2018).
