Fiotec participates in another annual meeting of the CUIDA Chagas project - Fiotec

Recife (PE) was chosen as the capital to host the annual meeting of the CUIDA Chagas project in 2025. Between October 27th and 31st, representatives from the entities that form the consortium met to evaluate the actions carried out and project plans for the coming year.

Fiotec supports the project by managing its financial resources and sent representatives to the event. The program included meetings with teams from the Ministries of Health of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, and Paraguay, as well as WHO, PAHO, FINDECHAGAS, and Unitaid, and discussions related to the project's implementation.

During some days of the event, working groups (WGs) were also formed for more in-depth discussions on the following topics: Implementation Studies; Clinical Trial; Validation Study; Market and Finance. The Finance WG included the participation of Fiotec's International Projects analysts, Luiz Martins and Eduardo Mello, who were able to share financial data on the project, the purchase and management of health commodities, as well as feedback on the audits already carried out.

The Consortium The CUIDA Chagas Project – “United Communities for Innovation, Development and Care for Chagas Disease” – combines implementation research and innovation with the goal of developing a comprehensive and integrated approach to achieve its objective: contributing to the elimination of vertical transmission of Chagas disease (CD) in Latin America. Today, the Consortium is formed by entities from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, and Switzerland.

The goal of the CUIDA Chagas program is to benefit women of childbearing age, their children, and household contacts by increasing and intensifying access to diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive care for Chagas disease through innovative and sustainable approaches.
