INTO inaugurates new care center and welcomes professionals hired by the “Agora Tem Especialistas” program - Fiotec

Health Minister Alexandre Padilha attended the ceremony marking the inauguration of the Orthobiological Care Center at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (INTO) and the reception of professionals from the “Agora Tem Especialistas” Program (PATE), hired by Fiotec. The Fiocruz support foundation was represented at the event, held on Thursday (January 22), by executive and technical officers Cristiane Sendim and Vanessa Costa.

During the ceremony, the minister thanked Fiotec and Fiocruz, highlighting the importance of hiring professionals who will contribute directly to expanding INTO’s service capacity, including the reopening of surgical rooms and hospital beds.

“With the partnership with Fiocruz, we will hire 2,059 professionals and ensure that the federal institutes can once again operate with full teams, reactivated services and expanded care capacity. These are concrete actions that add up to BRL 170 million in investments and reposition the federal network as a strategic pillar of the SUS in the state of Rio de Janeiro,” said the minister.

In addition to INTO, Alexandre Padilha also attended the implementation of robotic surgery and the inauguration of new pediatric oncology facilities at the Brazilian National Cancer Institute (INCA). At the Brazilian Institute of Cardiology (INC), he visited the Genetic Sequencing Service, the Telehealth Center and the Cardiovascular Health Observatory, as well as attended the reopening of ward beds and the reactivation of palliative care services.

All initiatives are part of the “Agora Tem Especialistas” program and the Federal Institutes’ Requalification Plan. Through a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Health and Fiocruz, the initiative aims to hire more than 2,000 professionals through Fiotec in order to restore full service capacity and reactivate services that had been limited for years.

Fiotec teams have been directly involved in the shared management of the agreement, conducting stages of the selection process, which receives applications from professionals across the country.

The main objective of the announced initiatives is to restore the care capacity of the federal health network by reopening hospital beds, expanding professional teams, modernizing infrastructure and incorporating new technologies. These measures are expected to have a direct impact on the provision of consultations, diagnostic exams and surgeries through the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Federal institutes and hospitals in Rio de Janeiro will receive BRL 170 million in investments through the “Agora Tem Especialistas” program.
