The Parliamentary Vaccine Front (FPV) is holding a meeting between teams at Fiotec

On february 23, the Fiotec auditorium hosted a meeting between professionals who work directly in the actions of the Parliamentary Vaccine Front (FPV - Frente Parlamentar da Vacina in Portuguese), an initiative of the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate that strengthens public vaccination policies throughout the country. In the state of Rio de Janeiro, the program's activities take place in direct partnership with Fiocruz.

After a brief meeting with members of the Board of Directors of Fiotec, the institution responsible for managing resources from parliamentary amendments, the Secretary of Health of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Soranz, addressed the approximately 80 professionals, thanking them for the work done in the various regions of the state. “We are completing our second year [of the Parliamentary Vaccine Front] with this important objective of expanding vaccination coverage in the state.” And this has happened thanks to your work.” According to the manager, the initiative becomes even more important since the state of Rio de Janeiro has one of the worst vaccination coverage rates in the entire country.

Soranz highlighted the strategic partnership with Fiocruz and Fiotec in carrying out the actions of the Front and asked for an even greater commitment from the agents with the arrival of new vaccines to the National Immunization Program (PNI - Programa Nacional de Imunizações in Portuguese), including the one for dengue prevention. Next, the secretary presented certificates of honorable mention to all professionals involved in the initiative, as a way of recognizing their work and commitment to promoting public health in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The Parliamentary Vaccine Front (FPV) With the central objectives of promoting public science and strengthening vaccination, the initiative is present in more than 90 cities in the state of Rio de Janeiro and monitors the coverage of 18 different immunizations. FPV defends the National Immunization Program (PNI) as an essential state policy for the country; develops educational campaigns on the importance of vaccines; combats misinformation; and supports health professionals and agents who work directly with the population.
