Fiotec has hired 1.5 thousand professionals for the Hospital Center for the Covid-19 pandemic, located in Manguinhos, in Rio de Janeiro. To achieve such a volume of hired professionals in record time, the institution used technological infrastructure in the cloud, supplied by partner company Claranet CorpFlex.
According to Evandro Gonçalves, Fiotec’s Information Technology manager, the private cloud system was crucial for the advancement of the selection of these new collaborators. “With Fiotec’s action and the cloud support of Claranet CorpFlex, we optimized the hiring of new professionals, responding more quickly to the demands generated by the coronavirus”, he says.
In a traditional digital environment, any kind of failure in the server takes longer to be absorbed, making it unavailable for users. In a private cloud environment, the server can be replaced without causing these problems. Evandro explains the huge impact: “For instance, Fiocruz deals with payments, and when the ERP is unavailable, if we’re not in the cloud, the problem cascades and jeopardizes the relationship with suppliers and services”.
Technology has also facilitated the adaptation to working from home, with possibility of access from any place, in full safety. With the migration, technology costs were reduced by 40%, and complete migration is expected to be completed in the long run. “We’ll have a new work reality from now on, more people will be able to work intensely and remotely regardless of the situation”, concludes Evandro.
