Fiotec held a strategic meeting on April 13 with representatives of the Vice-Presidency for Research and Biological Collections of Fiocruz (VPPCB). The unprecedented initiative, led by the technical director of the foundation, Vanessa Costa, was considered even more significant since, according to her, “a large part of the research projects developed by Fiocruz rely on the support of Fiotec.”

The beginning of the meeting was dedicated to an overview of the support provided by Fiotec to projects across various units of Fiocruz. The possibilities for shared management of these projects were presented, as well as recent advances in processes implemented by the support foundation.

The meeting was a space for recognizing the daily work carried out by Fiotec and the challenges involved in the shared management of projects. According to Vanessa, initiatives were also discussed related to the analysis of the large volume of data held by Fiotec regarding projects and their outputs, which could support the matrix-based actions of the VPPCB alongside the units of Fiocruz, as well as pathways for expanding funding sources for research within the framework of the Legal Framework for Science, Technology and Innovation.
