The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) received Prosecutors from the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT), on the afternoon of November 7, in Manguinhos, Rio de Janeiro, to celebrate and strengthen the partnership. The meeting promoted a rich dialogue between the institutions and provided space for future possibilities for partnerships.
The event featured a presentation by the Government Relationship Manager of the Fundraising Office, Lorena Ferreira Martins, on the powerful results of the actions carried out through the partnership with the MPT. Among some of the initiatives addressed are the United Against Covid-19, the mRNA platform, emergency actions in Rio Grande do Sul and Adequacy and Qualification of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center. The manager also exposed other projects of great national and international impact that are open to new partnerships, such as Mercury Surveillance actions in Indigenous territories and Flifio, the Fiocruz International Literary Festival, an event that will promote health, science and literature with a focus on the periphery.
"Fiocruz recognizes the impact of the MPT on its actions and intends to further expand this partnership. The basic premises of the two institutions are the same and with this we hope to consolidate our partnership and show the power of this union", said the manager.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Regional Ministry of Labor of the 1st region, Isabela Maul, the attorneys Júnia Bonfante Raymundo and Juliane Mombelli, who represented the Attorney General and the National Coordination for the Defense of the Labor Environment and the Attorney Secretary of Institutional Relations, Rafael Dias Marques. Also present at the event were the Vice President of Environment, Care and Health Promotion, Hermano Albuquerque de Castro, and representatives of Fiotec, including the executive director, Cristiane Sendim. The leader of partnerships with companies of the Fundraising Office, Fabio Sacramento, representing the general leader of the EC.
Daniele Pereira, Project Coordinator at Fiotec, highlighted the speech of the institution's executive director, Cristiane Sendim, in which she thanked and praised the partnership with the MPT to enable relevant initiatives for the safety, well-being and health of Brazilians. "The team from the Fundraising Office made a great presentation of the technical results achieved by some of the projects supported by us [Fiotec]. There was still room to discuss new partnership options, in order to expand the joint work between MPT, Fiocruz and Fiotec".
The deputy executive director of Fiocruz, Priscila Ferraz Soares, representing the presidency of the Foundation, spoke about the common interests between the institutions, especially in the defense of the rights of health workers and the progress in Fiocruz's work in building efficient models to receive resources from the Public Ministry of Labor.
"We are advancing in integrity, control and transparency mechanisms, building innovative administrative models. For us it has been a huge learning experience and an advance. When we say that we receive resources from the Public Ministry of Labor, in a long-standing partnership, we build a relationship of trust, and it gives us credibility to open other paths", said the director, wishing a long life to the partnership that continues to generate good results.
