The students of the Art Center of the Silveira Sampaio Municipal School, in Curicica, received new technological equipment for the art and technology workshops. This was possible thanks to the partnership between the Institute of Drug Technology (Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz), with the Fiocruz Support Foundation (Fiotec). Together, the institutions donated ten computers, an ultra-notebook, a portable projector and a professional camera.
The objective of the initiative is to directly impact the quality of teaching and the educational preparation of students. With the new devices, students will have the opportunity to improve their skills in the workshops offered at the school, making learning more effective, dynamic and attractive.
The director of Farmanguinhos, Jorge Mendonça, highlighted the importance of participating in social causes as a way to achieve one of the goals of the 2030 Agenda. "Being able to contribute to the education and dreams of adolescents is essential for a fairer and more equitable country. Giving opportunities for development in all fields of science helps in belonging to be a full citizen", he stressed.
The pedagogical coordinator of the Silveira Sampaio Municipal School, Ariadne Lage, thanked the support received by the institutions. "The donation is very important for the development of our art and technology workshops, such as video editing, stop motion and computing. They have existed for about two years and, before, we did not have the necessary equipment", she commented.
During the visit to the school, the representatives of Farmanguinhos and the social worker of Fiotec, Juliana Freitas, were able to follow a presentation held by Cia de Dança Expo, with a fragment of the show MilTons, in honor of the singer and composer Milton Nascimento.
The initiative reinforces institutional values and highlights the unit's commitment to education, citizens and society.
Farmanguinhos and Silveira Sampaio Art Center – The partnership between the institutions began in 2022, with the making of furniture and frames during a pallet workshop. The objective of the Center is to deepen knowledge in art, in addition to helping the student to experience and appropriate the creative processes. Currently, workshops are offered in literary art, visual arts, dance, music, theater and video.
