Since May 19, the Museu da Vida Fiocruz now offers a structure that ensures greater accessibility for visitors to its exhibitions: the Sensory Regulation Room for neurodivergent individuals. The space is located in the museum’s Reception Center, near the main entrance of the Manguinhos Campus of the Foundation.  

Fiotec was one of the supporters in setting up the room and took part in the inauguration event, represented by its Executive Director, Cristiane Sendim. On the occasion, after greeting those present and celebrating the inauguration of the space, the manager began her remarks by highlighting Fiotec’s institutional values, which align with initiatives such as the Sensory Regulation Room: “At Fiotec, we are committed to valuing people in all their diversity, fostering and strengthening an inclusive and plural culture in our spaces and in the support we provide to Fiocruz projects.”   

Cristiane also highlighted the work being carried out in direct partnership with Fiocruz, through its Coordination of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Affirmative Policies (Cedipa), focused on the hiring of persons with disabilities (PwD) professionals who currently work across different units on the Foundation’s campuses.. Earlier this year, more than 30 workers had already been hired for Fiotec’s administration, and approximately another 90 were selected at the time to work at the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (COC) and the Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública Sergio Arouca (Ensp). All of these employment contracts, Sendim pointed out were made possible through Fiotec’s People Management team.  

In a video on the Museu da Vida’s social media channels, Nercilene Monteiro, Deputy Director of Management and Institutional Development at the Fiocruz’s Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (COC), comments on the importance of the Sensory Regulation Room and highlights that the space is available to everyone who works, studies, or visits the Fiocruz campus. Check the content..
