Today (6/4), Fiotec launched its official Instagram account. The @fiotecfiocruz profile was created to enhance the actions of the institution in the dissemination and sharing of contents related to health, science, and technology, as well as to ensure visibility for the projects and initiatives of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) it supports.
Currently, Brazil has 72 million Instagram users. Only the United States and India have more active profiles on this particular social network. Despite other platforms such as Facebook and YouTube registering a higher number of users, according to the 2019 Digital report, the app has the highest engagement rate.
Aware of the data, and given the popularity of this social media, Fiotec sees Instagram as another communication channel that allows it to be in direct contact with its audience. Its recent involvement in the app represents a new challenge for the institution, which is determined to work in order to create and share increasingly dynamic and accessible contents, without, however, losing sight of its mission to universalize the information about national progress in health, science and technology.
Digital Presence
In addition to Instagram, Fiotec already has official Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn profiles. On these websites, its nearly 40 thousand followers (corresponding to all three sites) get daily updates regarding the major studies and researches developed by Fiocruz, as well as pieces of news about significant advances in the fields of health, science, and technology. Selection processes for projects supported by the institution hold their place in these profiles too, thus ensuring a better dissemination of the different opportunities and transparency during all stages of the process.
