Fiotec has been recently awarded the renewal of its Declaratory Title of Public Utility. The document is the recognition, by the State of Rio de Janeiro, that our institution provides services of interest to the society. This title gives Fiotec exemption from paying state taxes.
Such recognition has direct impact on the performance of projects supported by Fiotec, as it ensures the exemption of taxes like the Vehicle Tax (IPVA) and the Value-added Tax (ICMS).
The Declaratory Title of Public Utility is renewed at each two years.
MEC and MCTI
Other document that must be renewed at each two years is the accreditation before the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCTI). This certificate accredits Fiotec for acting as support foundation, that is, as a non-profit institution that must be related to research, education, extension, or institutional development.
The certificate of Accreditation before MEC and MCTI has just been published in the Federal Official Gazette.
