On December 10th, “Tour of Brazil”: partnerships and opportunities for cooperation between Brazil and Europe in Health" was held at Fiocruz. The event discussed partnership opportunities in health between Brazil and the European Union (EU) and its member states. Fiotec, which currently has more than ten projects financed by the EU, was one of the institutions that made a presentation at the time.

At the invitation of B.Bice+, the organizer of the event, Flavia Estill, supervisor of International Projects, gave a presentation on the experience of the institution in support of European projects. "I promoted the support work that Fiotec offers and the expertise of our professionals in achieving the excellence we propose to offer in the project management of Fiocruz. I felt very safe at the time, because I received the support and encouragement of Mabel Melo (area manager) and Mauricio Zuma (CEO of Fiotec)", said the supervisor. Besides her, analysts Ana Carolina Gomes and Renata Correa attended the event.

Representatives of the EU Delegation in Brazil and researchers and political actors from Belgium, Brazil, Italy, Denmark and Switzerland attended Tour of Brazil, whose target audience was researchers, companies and political actors interested in conducting exchanges and cooperation projects with institutions in Europe.

B.Bice+ promoted the event in partnership with Belgian institution Wallonie-Bruxelles International, Fiocruz and the Foundation for Research of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Faperj)

Supported projects

In cooperation with the European Union, Fiotec supports some very important projects and "Berenice" is one of them. This is a research network that operates between Latin America and Europe, studying an innovative therapeutic formulation to combat Chagas disease.

Another highlight is "Viroclime", which investigates the possible variations in viral concentrations due to climate change and/or practices in water management in Brazil, Spain, Hungary, Greece and Sweden – which are vulnerable to these changes.
