The Cultural Center for Citizenship and Creative Economy, in Niterói/RJ, hosted last Wednesday (12/18) the event Favela, Health and Human Rights, promoted by the executive coordination of the Integrated Health Plan in the Favelas RJ, of which Fiotec is a part. The popular MACquinho was the place chosen to debate the actions already carried out by the Plan, in addition to hosting panels and workshops that reinforced the need to outline positive perspectives for the peripheral areas of the state.

The meeting brought together representatives of various institutions involved in the 146 projects made possible by the Plan, as well as community leaders from 33 cities in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Fiotec was represented at the opening table of the event, reaffirming its commitment to supporting health promotion and social transformation in these territories. Alongside Raphael Coelho, a professional from Fiotec's Legal Management, the coordinator of the Favela Verde organization, Bianca Oliver; the coordinator of the MACquinho public notice center, Asy Sanches; the general coordinator of the Integrated Health Plan in the Favelas, Valber Frutuoso; the professor at UERJ, Adair Rocha; the technical advisor of the Ministry of Health, Márcia Pereira; the general coordinator of the School of Community Communication, Luga Nascimento; in addition to Walkiria Nictheroy, general administrator of MACquinho.

"It is indeed gratifying to observe the significant impact of our performance in the development of the Plan's 146 projects, positively influencing the engagement and empowerment of the population through health", commented Caique Yañez, Raphael's colleague in Fiotec's legal team. The professional participated in the event alongside other representatives of the institution's own Legal Management, and other teams such as Logistics and Projects. According to Caique, the invitation received by Fiotec was a valuable recognition of the support provided by the foundation on several fronts, from the legal analysis of contracts, through the acquisition of products and contracting of services, to the careful monitoring of all phases of each of the projects developed through the Plan.

For 2025, actions are already being planned such as the State Health Day in the Favelas of Rio de Janeiro; the launch of the Plan's diagnosis; the construction of the Integrated Plan for Communication and Information in Health in the Favelas; among others.

146x Favela

The Integrated Health Plan in the Favelas of Rio de Janeiro was created during the Covid-19 pandemic, with the initial objective of promoting the prevention and fight against the virus in vulnerable territories. Today, the program reaches communities throughout the state of Rio de Janeiro, enabling projects that empower this population through health.

The initiative is the result of a partnership between Fiocruz, UFRJ, Uerj, PUC-RJ, Uenf, IFF, Abrasco, SBPC and the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj).
