Between October 15th and 17th, the Federal Capital hosted the 8th Congress of the National Council of Foundations Supporting Higher Education and Scientific and Technological Research Institutions (Confies), the already traditional event that brings together representatives of foundations from all over the country. This year's theme was "Technological Innovations, Sustainability and Society" and marked the largest edition of the congress, with more than 500 participants.

In addition to the existing thematic forums - Governance, Attorneys, Accountants, IT, Communicators - 2025 marked the beginning of the International and National Procurement, and People Management and Compliance colleges. A unique opportunity to exchange experiences, as well as share possible solutions to common challenges.

The other two days were dedicated to roundtables and workshops, which covered topics such as Tax Reform; the role of foundations supporting Deep Tech; mental health; implementation of the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan (PIBIA); institutional communication and stakeholder relations; and the Brazil Pact.

After three days of activities, the 8th Confies Congress was closed by Confies institutional advisor, Bruno Portella, who thanked each of the participants, sponsors, panelists, authorities, and collaborators of the event. “We have concluded another edition of the Confies National Congress and, in doing so, we reaffirm the commitment that unites us: to strengthen the role of support foundations as protagonists in the science, technology, and innovation ecosystem of our country. These were intense days of debates, exchanges, and learning, in which we revisited the challenges that Brazil faces in the management of science and innovation, but we also celebrated achievements and advances that show how indispensable foundations are to building a more sustainable, just, and innovative future," he concluded.

Impact on Support Foundations," and Evandro Maroni, Information Technology manager, moderated the panel "How Support Foundations Can Subsidize the Implementation of the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan (PIBIA)."
