Director Cristiane Sendim, together with Marianna Camargo, legal manager, represented Fiotec at a meeting at the headquarters of the Eastern Military Command (CML), the Duque de Caxias Palace, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The visit, on March 13th, included a cultural tour of the Palace's important historical sites, highlighting notable personalities in Brazilian military history.
The meeting was led by the CML's Programs and Projects advisor, Veteran Brigadier General Nilton José Batista Moreno Júnior, and the head of the CML's Institutional Relations Advisory, Veteran Brigadier General Ernesto de Lima Gil. Members of the Area Military Command's Cultural Advisory accompanied the talks.
Fiotec's visit was part of a series of meetings promoted by the CML to interact directly with leading institutions on issues such as professional ethics. The foundation that supports Fiocruz maintains a cooperative relationship with the Brazilian Army and the Ministry of Defense itself, participating in events such as the Foundational Law Panel, held at the end of 2024 to discuss Tax Reform, the Legal Framework for Science, Technology and Innovation, and how these changes can influence the work done by support foundations and research institutions.
